One of our case studies is a data analytics platform for an insurance holding company. The customer acquired small-to medium-size insurance companies. The client’s problems included non-standardized and manual reporting across various business units, a significant operational effort to prepare reports, a large numbers of data errors, limited ability to analyze historical data or run projections, lack of consolidated reporting, and lack of data visualization tools that allow the “slicing and dicing” of data. The client needed a fully transparent transition process for the acquired companies, as well as an efficient platform for maintaining massive amounts of customer data.
The solution was executed using an Azure SQL data warehouse, an Azure data factory and PowerBI. Not only did it solve the client’s business problems, but it also enabled data insights in the areas of P&L analysis, policy life cycle analysis, claim process analysis, policy retention rate analysis, and other key metrics.
